Dorcas Circle
Dorcas circle is a group of women who meet Thursday mornings from 9:00 to noon. Some are members of our church, some are not.
We are all “senior citizens”. in addition to making the quilts, we share a special camaraderie. We share about our children and grandchildren, our trips, good books and movies, favorite experiences and memories, and so on. If someone is absent, we check and make sure she is OK.
Dorcas circle is also women who take work home to do in addition to the weekly meetings. It is others who work independently at home. It is spouses, children, friends, and others who help display the quilts before Quilt Sunday and then bag and distribute afterwards. It is contributions of fabrics and funds from other sources. Donated material that we cannot use is given to the Assistance League, which benefits Hillside House and Operation School Bell.
